Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public Comment The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public comments on the office’s application for grant funding for the Fiscal Year 2009-2010 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant program.
The Sheriff’s Office plans to utilize these funds to enter into a contract with UCF Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies to conduct a research project on our juvenile program efficiencies and recidivism.
In prior years the Sheriff’s Office has purchased disaster recovery equipment, Latent Print Station, Crime Scene Laboratory and other investigative tools with JAG funding. All of the funds are used to reduce crime and improve public safety.

The Sheriff has approved the qualification of retired law enforcement officers on the Seminole Community College Range by our instructors. The qualification will be the FDLE 40 round course as prescribed by FDLE in order to satisfy the Law Enforcement Officer's Safety Act of 2004 (LEOSA), otherwise known as HB 218.
