Law Enforcement Operations  

Headed by Chief Deputy Steve Hariett, Operational Services consists of law enforcement, law enforcement investigative services, and community services.

It provides law enforcement support services to the community to develop and maintain a functional community-law enforcement partnership. It conducts the agency's uniformed patrol activities, criminal investigations, and other related law enforcement and community support functions.

The Community Services Division facilitates the Sheriff's Office's response to special community needs and is responsible for supporting all facets of the Sheriff's Office as specific needs are identified through employee contact with the public. It provides law enforcement and community support services, including crime prevention. The unit interprets community crime prevention needs, coordinates Neighborhood Watch and Business Watch groups, and conducts child safety programs.It provides support to senior citizens, including crime prevention and designated victim support services. Through the Public Information Officer, it provides news media representatives with official statements regarding activities of the Sheriff's Office. It also assists victims of violent crime and other emotionally traumatic events. Victim Advocates assess the needs of victims to identify appropriate legal and social agencies for assistance, and respond to crime scenes as needed. The Weed and Seed initiative develops and promotes comprehensive strategies to reduce crime and revitalizes communities to increase their capacity for a better quality of life.
