Auto Theft

City-County Auto Theft Bureau

The Bureau is a joint venture between the Seminole and Brevard County Sheriff's Offices and comprises the 18th Judicial Circuit of Florida and draws its membership from local law enforcement agencies. The Bureau is committed to reducing auto theft through education, crime prevention, and proactive enforcement.

The CCAT Bureau is composed of investigators from the Seminole County Sheriff.s Office, the Altamonte Springs Police Department, the Sanford Police Department, and the Winter Springs Police Department. The coordinated team approach to reducing auto theft is based on several key initiatives. The Bureau stresses proactive enforcement, which includes the management and monitoring of over 800 repeat auto theft offenders. Additionally, the Bureau is concerned with crime prevention, and community outreach to educate the public and insure that citizens exercise prudent care to avoid victimization. Feel free to contact the Bureau if your group or organization would like to schedule an informative auto theft prevention seminar and rally.

The Bureau has been recognized throughout Florida as a leader in the innovation of programs designed to combat auto theft. We encourage the Combat Auto Theft (C.A.T.) program, provide VIN etching services, and provide consequence education to juveniles at risk for committing auto thefts.
