Deputy Director
Captain Kip Beacham, Deputy Director, Community Services Division
Prior to his joining the Sheriff's Office, Captain Kip Beacham worked for seven years in the Florida Department of Corrections as a Probation Officer, where he supervised drug offenders as well as worked with victims to ensure they received the restitution due them. After this he moved into a management position with the Department of Juvenile Justice, where he oversaw the day-to-day processing of more than 200 juveniles.
In 1995 he joined the Seminole County Sheriff's Office as the Assistant Manager of the Juvenile Assessment Center. In 2000 he was promoted to Captain and became Deputy Director of the Juvenile Assessment Center, where he had oversight of Operation Right Track and R.A.D.A.R. In 2002 he was reassigned to the Department of Community Justice, Planning and Development where he dealt with homeless issues in Seminole County, as well as the EMPACT program. In 2006 he was promoted to Deputy Director of the newly organized Community Services Division whose main thrust is Crime Prevention, Elder Services, Special Projects, and the Office of Public Information.
Captain Beacham is very active in Seminole County community affairs and is a member of the Oviedo Rotary Club, and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives. He is the current Chairman of the Board of Safehouse of Seminole, and also serves on the board of directors for the Homeless Services Network, Community Based Care of Seminole, Kids House of Seminole, Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, Seminole County Youth Commission, Florida Hospital Foundation Board, and the Executive Board of the Seminole County N.A.A.C.P.
He previously served on the Charter Review Board and the Code Enforcement Board of the City of Oviedo, the Board of Pathways to Care, the Orlando Area Trust for the Homeless Board, as well as the Metro Board of the Central Florida YMCA.
He holds a B.S. in Criminology from Tennessee State University.
