Report Issues And Concerns

Effective Neighborhood Policing has a positive impact on reducing crime, helping to reduce the fear of crime and enhancing the quality of life in the community. It accomplishes these objectives by combining the efforts and resources of the Sheriff's Office and community members.

Neighborhood Policing is a collaborative effort between the Sheriff's Office and the community that identifies problems of crime and disorder by involving all elements of the community in the search for solutions to these problems. Neighborhood Policing is founded on close, mutually beneficial relationships between the Sheriff's Office and community members.

At the center of Neighborhood Policing are two core components: community partnership and problem solving.

Community partnerships such as the Community Law Enforcement Academy, volunteering, and Neighborhood Councils recognize the value of bringing the people back into the policing process. Problem solving identifies the specific concerns that community members feel are most threatening to their safety and well being. These areas of concern then become priorities for joint community and law enforcement interventions.

To assist in solving these concerns, we use a technique called the S.A.R.A. model, which is an acronym for scanning, analysis, response, and assessment. Through this technique, deputies within our communities identify problems or issues relevant to your concerns, analyze the problem to identify issues relevant to the concern and reveal underlying causes, determine the best way to solve the problem through a collaborative effort, and evaluate the overall process to determine if the solution worked and whether the goals were attained.

If you have an issue or concern in your community and wish to report it to the Sheriff's Office, you can do so by completing the form below. If you wish, you may remain anonymous.
