Requirements

Each CoP member is asked to volunteer eight (8) hours per month. Hours can be in the form of patrol, administrative duties, attendance at meetings and training sessions, and /or other activities.

Qualifications are:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age and a resident of Seminole County
  • Graduate of the Sheriff's Office Community Law Enforcement Academy
  • Complete an application for the CoP program
  • Be fingerprinted and photographed
  • Successfully pass the background and records check, criminal history, and credit check
  • Possess a valid driver's license without an excessive violation history
  • Successfully pass an oral interview, if required
  • Complete a 28-hour block of specialized CoP training which includes: Review of Policy, Patrol Procedures, First Aid and CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, Driving/Traffic Direction and Communications.
