Operation Right Track

Operation Right Track is designed to offer an avenue of intervention for parents trying to guide their children away from delinquent or incorrigible behavior. The program is a 2-day highly structured, paramilitary in nature program that is designed to assist parents in regaining control of their youth and facilitating lasting change within the family structure to prevent reoccurrence of unacceptable behavior in youth. Operation Right Track is not for hard core juvenile offenders; it is for those upon whom we can really make an impact – youth on the edge.

Participants will be exposed to a military-like atmosphere and will be expected to comply with commands given by specially trained Drill Instructors. Operation Right Track is conducted on Saturdays and platoons are segregated by gender. Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from the training facility.

No cell phones are permitted during the Operation Right Track Program.

There are four main avenues of referral into Operation Right Track:
  • Received as a diversion program
  • A court order
  • Through direct parent referral for incorrigible youth
  • A referral from Seminole County Public Schools as an alternative to suspension

Participants (youth) are not permitted to attend orientation/registration. During the registration session, parents will complete all necessary paper work, pay a $70 registration fee (payable in cash or by money order), and receive an in-depth overview of our program.

Youth participants will be exposed to a variety of experiences aimed at compliance to rules and regulations. They will be required to perform moderate physical activity such as physical exercises and a 1/2 mile run, as well as a variety of educational classes to include "Developing the 12 Keys of Character" and "Decisions and Consequences."

Parent participation is a mandatory part of the Operation Right Track experience. To enroll in Operation Right Track, parents must agree to participate in a 1 ½ hour parenting session (from 5:30 to 7:00 PM) on the first Saturday the child attends Operation Right Track.

Furthermore, the parent must agree to return with the child on a 2nd Saturday (usually the week following the child’s first Saturday in Operation Right Track) and participate in a 6-hour parent/teen challenge day that is designed to build communication and problem solving skills within the family. The parent/teen challenge component is facilitated by the Adolescent Life Coaching Center (ALCC) and will be conducted at 1151 E. 28th Street, Sanford, FL 32773 from 9:30 am until 3:00 pm.
